I'm just curios. I know there is no Mac model present. Maybe there's an adapter for that?
 
I think you'll need an adapter to hook up the monitor. TB3 changes to the USB-C form factor so you'll not be able to plug the monitor directly into the port. I believe it will be backwards compatible.

That was my thought, too.
What bothers me, is the fact that Apple can make the 2011 Thunderbolt Display incompatible with the new Thunderbolt 3 interfaces, because they probably might want to sell a new 4K or 5K display.
 
the port will look different, but it should be backwards compatible with the right cable/adapter.
