This morning we had a pretty rough thunderstorm. So imagine to my surprise that after a loud clap of thunder that nearly jolted me out of bed I start hearing music playing. My homepod mistook the thunder as a command to resume my playlist. Has anyone else experienced this effect?

probably didn't "hear a command"

either got a little power surge from the outlet.
or if the lighting was close enough, got a little charge that "touched" the touchscreen on top
or a bit of both.

so, more than likely... electrical interference with the touch sensor.

^ This, or if the thunder clap actually rumbled/shook the house, that might also be enough for the HomePod to think someone physically touched the top, and it started playing.
