I have used Thunderbird as my mail client for years - first on Windows and, since '16, on my Macbook Pro running High Sierra.

Of late, almost any action I take triggers a delay and the spinning ball. This is not a network delay issue - it happens outside of downloads - e.g. when deleting a message or moving from one account to another.

It is peculiar to Thunderbird - there are no similar delays with other programs or actions so I assume it is not a general slow down.

Has anyone else seen and/or cured this?
