Thunderbird removal

I downloaded thunderbird. Decided I would rather use Mail. How do i delete Thunderbird from Mavericks? In case you couldn't guess this is my first OSX machine. Please call me all the names you want but please help.

To delete Thunderbird:
Drag the Thunderbird app to the trash.
Then, from the ~/Library folder (that's your user Library, just to be sure)
Drag the Thunderbird folder to the trash.
Finally, empty the trash.

That worked. Thanks. I was just trying to move it from the launch pad screen. After moving it to the tray at the bottom of the screen and then moving that to trash then I could move the icon from the apps screen. Thank you very much.
