The Apple website does not make any mention of the Thunderbolt that comes with the new iMac being Thunderbolt 1 or 2. Which is it?

Thanks.

Is the speed difference going to be noticeable when transferring lots of files, or is TB2 really going to come into play when doing 4K video?

For most users - 4K video, I think. It would be the most important factor for me and I regret that the current iMacs doesn't have decent support for 4K displays. TB1 gives you transfer of about 1GB/s and TB2 doubles that - there are only a few people needing that now.
