Thunderbolt cannot use an extension cable.

Best bet is the Apple Thunderbolt 2 cable in the 2.0m variety.

Or a Thunderbolt 2 dock + 2, 2.0m cables if it’s a matter of “extension at any price.”

Hi Rusian could you answer my question, do all Thunderbolt docks get very hot mine does as soon as I turn it on? I have more questions about the thunderbolt dock on another post. hope your day is going well:)

I thought that was the case i just asked because the guy who did the review said he did not think it would get hot.

The other thing is When I type Thunderbolt 2 dock on Alfred it takes me to a page on the web about Thunderbolt.
I would have thought there would have been a Thunderbolt icon in the system preferences.

What's the use case? Are you trying to dismount hard disks on the dock?

(I think there's a utility you need to install to do that)

No I know how to fo that ,ihave had the Mac for just under 2 years know.
I just thought there should be a icon showing the Thunderbolt is on here.

Thunderbolt devices are listed in the System Report application.
