Having recently upgraded from a 2015 iMac to an iMac Pro, a high-speed TB2 RAID (G-Tech Shuttle XL) is continuously dismounting and remounting. I have a high-quality OWC Thunderbolt cable coming in tomorrow, as a quick perusal of G-Tech's forum revealed that the included cable (which worked fine on the older iMac) is a common source of similar problems.

The second item I am suspicious of is the Apple TB 2 to TB 3 adapter - that was, of course, not involved in the connection to the older iMac, and is needed to connect to the Pro. It's not the individual adapter, because we tried a spare with the same result. It COULD be that the RAID doesn't like the adapter. Does anyone know of higher-quality options? I've seen a StarTech and a couple of others on Amazon...

Better yet, does a TB3 to TB2 cable exist, or does anyone know of a powered TB3 dock with a TB2 port? I'd like to get the dongle adapter completely out of the loop if possible...

Since we initially thought it was a power problem in the RAID itself, we've actually tried two identical RAID boxes (same result). We don't have a spare iMac Pro around, but have tried both multiple ports on the Mac (same result) and other TB devices in the same port (which work fine).
