Hi all

Currently banging my head against the wall after 6 hours hours of failing immensely at getting this to work.

I currently have a USB3 external HDD running Windows 10 bootcamp successfully, including the Bootcamp Drivers from Apple - however it's incredibly slow. With the Thunderbolt 3 features of my mbp I wanted to take advantage of those speeds so I purchased a 1TB Thunderbolt 3 SSD and have been attempting to install Windows on it using the same method I used before following this guide:

I get through the initial installation successfully, however when I need to reboot my mac to continue the installation I get the Windows loading screen and then it enters a boot-loop. After about three attempts I get a blue screen saying my PC/Device needs to be repaired. I can successfully re-boot back into Big Sur. I have wiped the SSD/re-started the Windows install about four times trying to isolate where I might be making a mistake, alas I get the same result every time.

I figured it could be a Thunderbolt 3 issue, so I boot into my original USB3 Windows installation to see if it will recognize the T3 SSD connected. It does not. However, when I connect/disconnect the drive I hear Windows make a sound which seems to acknowledge a device is there, but nothing appears nor does the Device Manager note any changes. I have tried to install the Intel Thunderbolt 3 drivers and the installation quits with an error. I thought perhaps I could clone my Windows HDD assuming the thunderbolt features worked.

Any ideas or thoughts are very much appreciated.

What Macbook do you have?

Also have you went to device management and see if your hard drive/ SSD appears there? May need to be formatted.
