I am using M1 Macbook Pro 13" and having iMac Mid 2011, iMac is running on High Sierra and having TB2 port, i want to connect my M1 Macbook Pro with iMac to make my iMac as a display mode and also target disk mode, will it work? and if yes then what accessories i will require for it. Please share the link of the products i will require
Thanks

Target disk mode should work with the apple TB2–TB3 converter.
No knowledge of display mode.

Just an FYI, the mid-2011 iMac has Thunderbolt, not thunderbolt 2. Thunderbolt 2 came to the iMac in 2014.

The TB(1) and TB2 ports look the same. I have a 2011 Mini and a 2011 iMac each booted off TB3 NVMe SSDs. Though Thunderbolt (1) does limit the speed it's still a bit faster than a single internal SATA III SSD would be.

2011 iMac -> TB (1/2) cable -> Apple TB2 to TB3 adapter -> TB3 dock -> TB3 NVMe SSD.
