The thunderbolt technology is currently piggy-backing on a mini dp. Does anyone know if the dp connection to a Cinema Display uses up part of the 10Gb/s thunderbolt bandwidth? Or is it separate?

TB right now supports 10Gb/s up and down stream, and if the display bandwidth (over mini dp) is separate from that, leaving the full 10Gb/s for peripheral devices, that would be very good indeed.

Also, say I'm using an upcoming Lacie hard drive with TB (assuming one is coming), and daisy chaining a Cinema Display to the Lacie. What if I eject the hard drive? I would have to do that if I wanted to take my mbp with me. Would the monitor lose it's connection to the mbp?

Just curious how the daisy chaining would work.
