I connected my 2016 MacBook Pro to my 2014 MacBook Pro to transfer some files via Thunderbolt (TB2/3 adapter on the 2016 end). I wanted to keep working on both of them during the transfer so I enabled file sharing on the 2014 and connected to the 2014's SSD on my 2016 via the IP noted on the tb bridge. I opened disk speed test and was very confused why it was getting under 100 MB/s. I expected it to be much faster. I could have got speeds like this on ethernet. To be sure, I disabled any other network to make sure something wasn't interfering and only left the thunderbolt bridge active on both machines. No change. I received the same result connecting the 2014 to the 2016 SSD and also on a Mac mini. Very confused. What am I doing wrong?
