Thunderbolt cable longer than 6'???

Hi --

Does anyine out there know if thunderbolt cables longer than 6 feet exist?? If not does anyone out there know if it would be possible to splice 2 6 foot thunderbolt cables together?? I know this seems impractical but I am in need of a longer thunderbolt cable.

Any info would be much appreciated.

Don't take my word on it, but I think the copper cable is limited to 6'.

EDIT: 3 meters so ~9'
