Thunderbolt connection between M4 Max Studio and M1 Mac Mini - TB4 or TB5 cable?

I want to permanently connect both machines via thunderbolt but I'm not sure which cable to use. TB4 or TB5?

M1 doesn't have tb5 so I'd use 4.

I think the TB5 cable will be backwards compatible for use on the M1 mini, but will get no speed benefit out of it. I'd probably just use a TB3 cable (since I think the M1 mini is a TB3 machine, not TB4) and save the better cables for where they'd be of more benefit.
