Hello,
I have a nMP and would love some advice on how to properly connect my thunderbolt devices in terms of what bus they should go on, what to daisy chain and what not to, etc.
I have 3 thunderbolt displays, and I have one per bus.
I also have two thunderbolt drives; one is the 10TB Lacie raid enclosure, and the other is a Lacie 4TB that I use for Time Machine.
Currently, the 10TB drive is connected directed to bus 3 on the Mac Pro, and the 4TB drive is connected to the 10TB drive.
Because of my desk setup, my Mac Pro ended up under the desk, about a foot off the ground. For convenience, I got a thunderbolt dock, which I want to use just for easier access to a couple of Thunderbolt ports for external portable drives. I am not sure where I should connect the dock.
Eventually, I plan on adding a second 10TB drive to be a clone of the main one.
So, if those of you who truly understand the bandwidth and other details of these things could give me some pointers on the proper configuration, that would be great!
Many thanks in advance.
