It just hit me, an adapter to the mdp/thunderbolt could easily be released where it splits 1 mdp and a dvi to allow 2 external monitors to be hooked up to the new macbook pros!

lol
the current minidisplayport supports 4 displays at 1920x1080 at 120hz
too bad there are no displays to support daisy chaining yet.

Not yet but with a newly created adapter its possible. I can see monoprice selling one for $49.99. LOL. IMHO that's one of the main reasons for lightpeak, to drive monitors without any real effort! I think it will happen eventually.

Also its not really a daisy chain when one end of the adapter plugs into the mdp/thunderbolt and the other end will have two split (1 mdp) and (1 dvi) ports to drive 2 monitors.

Personally, this is one of my main reasons I sold my 17" i7 mbp for a Mac Pro desktop so that I can hook up more than 2 monitors and my hdtv to it.

If the new lightpeak allows to hook up 2-3 monitors, I'd probably go back to the macbook pro.

+1
I would love to run multiple monitors off of a laptop!
