Anyone game at 1080 on this display? How bad does the reduced resolution look?

I'm just talking games like World of Warcraft, StarCraft 2 and Diablo 3. I'm looking to dock my MacBook Pro while at home just for the bigger work space and I like to play these games a couple days a week and I'm not sure my MacBook is up to cranking out these games at the native 1440, so I'm just gonna scale it down while gaming.

Anyone use this current set up?

I have a TB display with an early 2011 2.3 MBP and 1080p is probably pushing it for the games you mentioned if you set everything to high. Also, the UI for those games looks pretty bad at 1080p stretched on the 27" screen. For blizzard games, I usually play them windowed at a resolution somewhere between 720p and 1080p and it seems to work fine for me. Depending on which MBP you have, you may be able to up the resolution or increase the graphics.

Also, I use the MBP in clamshell mode and it tends to stutter occasionally. I'm pretty sure it's throttling because of heat.

I use a ThunderBolt display to game (Diablo III), but it's being driven by a 27" iMac with the 2GB AMD Radeon HD 6970M. Looks good at both 1920x1080 and 2560 x 1440.
