So I am looking at getting TB display to connect to my MBP. Other then USB3 are there any major difference between the current model and the one they use for the new iMac? Figured new displays will be very similar to the current iMac ones. Don't really need USB3 so thought I pick up a refurb TBD.

Thoughts?

I think you know this but to be clear, the current model TBD is USB 2.0, there is no USB 3.0 version yet.

The latest iMac has USB 3.0, and the next update to the TBD should have USB 3.0, likely a redesigned screen like the iMac (and perhaps a new shape more similar to the iMac shape, but not sure about that).

Otherwise the resolution is the same but the new iMac has a redesigned display with 75 percent less reflectivity and supposedly brighter colors (I never paid too much attention in the Apple store to see if it's noticeable).

Here's the Apple link about the iMac display...
