Bought myself a 2011 27” Apple Thunderbolt Display a few weeks ago of eBay. It’s in great condition but I turned it on yesterday and it smelled like it was burning from the top of the display. It has not done this before. I turned it off immediately and let it sit for 10 minutes. Tried it again and the burning smell immediately came back within 30 seconds of turning the display on.
Luckily I’m within the return period and have already initiated a return. I’m only posting because it has to be packed and the cost of packing it is very expensive (I’m disabled and cannot do it myself). I highly doubt it is worth trying to repair this, because it’s a 15 year-old display, but I figured I’d ask for advice.
Thanks.
