Hi there,

Something weird has been going on with my Thunderbolt Display since a few days.

How I'm using my Macbook:
When I'm at home I have my Macbook Pro connected to my thunderbolt display, and this setup sometimes does not change for a few days. The lit of my Macbook is closed.
So previously (the last 2 years or so) I would just tap any key and the display would turn on. just like you would expect.

Now since a few days, this does not happen at all. It just stays black.
Another indicator is that my Bose 2.1 speakers, the controller, shows a red light (what means; nothing connected)

To get it working, I have to open the lit, unplug the thunderbolt cable, plug it back in. And the TB display wakes up.

Anyone has any idea? as this it getting pretty annoying. :(

Consider changing you power settings to not letting the MBP go to sleep... but instead require a password to wake after screen saver.

If you recently updated to OS 10.9.3, it has display wake issues.

You can try 10.9.4 and also try to reset the SMC and PRAM.

If thats not your situation.... never mind :)

This was already the case. The problem started out of the blue.

I'm on 10.9.4 right now. I actually think it started with this version.

Its a problem with .4 as well. Apple is too busy bringing us magical new features to get the I/O issues worked out. After a new MBA, I've put all new Mac purchases on hold until they get this fixed.

Many with wake issues reverted to 10.9.2. Sometime you have to reset the SMC and PRAM a couple times.

:( they didnt fixed this in Yosemite?
It seems I was able to fix it by disabling the auto-brightness box.
It has been running fine for 2 days now.

I will try that! Thanks

Are you suggesting its fixed in Yosemite or surprised its not. I don't know either way. Worth upgrading but not while I'm on the road. Will try disabling auto-brightness in 10.9, something I would never have considered related to this issue. Thanks.
