people are working on it.. ViDock for instance.. problem is Intel.

there have been several threads in this forum about it. try a search.

so far, nothing cheap ...like $ 300 for the dock plus the videocard.

other threads suggest thunderbolt doesn't have enough bandwidth

It's been a topic of discussion for some time now

http://www.extremetech.com/computin...graphics-card-for-macs-will-not-blow-you-away

but not much has come of it. What Larry Gadea did was one of the first to do this, and I hope not the last.

It would be an awesome setup. Macbook > external GPU > TBD, usable in OSX and not have to rely on a Windows partition.

I found this late yesterday, http://www.computershopper.com/comp...nal-thunderbolt-graphics-video-card-clearance

the problem is not intel, Bplus never made a finished product, you had to do your own troubleshooting, it was a pain to get it to work even when it was on express card.

that setup of expresscard to tb is the most troublesome one

OP, there are several cases available, none of them are actually cheap, there are more being produced and they work alright if you dont have a mac that has a dgpu in it

well, vidock is just waiting for intel to let them build the thunderbolt eGPU, but something is holding them back.. people seem really pissed at intel.

there was a large complain that there wasnt enough support staff for thunderbolt from intel, intel raised their numbers, then the complain shifted from how to get the certification that was too difficult, i.e. to launch a product without a glaring.

simply put cry babies that dont know how to run a business

tb is plug and play, can you give that? no. you are out
