Hey guys!

Looking for a monitor out there and I’m wondering if it’s worth to go for a thunderbolt one or just stick to an HDMI!

In and case, could you guys recommend me any of them?

Cheers!

Maybe not thunderbolt but I would definitely recommend a monitor you can connect with USB C. Since you have a MBP, it will be so nice for you to charge and display with just one cable! You can then use the USB ports on the monitor for printers and other accessories. I just did this with a 2017 MBP and could not be happier.

Thanks! May I ask which one you got?

I got the LG 27UD88. Despite it being a few years old now, it’s the right size and resolution for my needs. The price point was a fair compromise between performance and cost (about $550).

Let us know if you see any dead pixels!

Haha I did a pixel test right away. No dead pixels. Monitor is flawless off the bat. I’ve seen mixed reviews of long term performance but my initial impression is a gorgeous display with supreme picture quality (as noted in reviews) that works seamlessly with by MBP 2017.
