I have a (Late 2012) Mac Mini 2.3GHz and an HP 2311xi monitor.
The display had been connected to the Mini's HDMI port with the HDMI to DVI-D adapter.
There were the black screen and snow screen problems (although recently much less frequently), so I got a MiniDisplayPort to DVI-D cable and connected the monitor to the Thunderbolt port.
(Strangely, when I checked the Thunderbolt Bus info in "System Information", it stated "No device connected" for the Port Status.)
With the HDMI connection, when I would put the Mini to sleep, the monitor usually went to sleep as well.
Now with the Thunderbolt connection, the monitor begins to go to sleep, but then starts flashing the MONITOR STATUS screen and saying that there is No Signal -- at which point the Mini hard drive wakes from sleep but without establishing a connection until I click the mouse.
Any idea why the Bus info states "No device connected" and whether this is why the connection gets dropped?
Can someone who connects their display to the Thunderbolt port please check and let me know if their System Information>Thunderbolt Bus> Port Status shows a device connected?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
