Running a Mid 2015 Retina Macbook Pro, with 2 thunderbolt ports.

I use 1 of the ports for LAN, and the other for my 4K Display.

Today i noticed my LAN thunderbolt adapter wasnt working. plugged in my display to the same thunderbolt port, and that isnt working either.

Tried a PRAM reset, no difference.

On close inspection, i can see that the broken port has a metal flap folded down, and i am wondering if this is the cause of the issue.

Can anyone with knowledge of the hardware give me advice on whether this is potentially the cause of the broken port?

See the left one in the pic below, it has a metal flap folded down in the upper middle of the port....

That certainly would impact performance.

I'd suggest you take it to an Apple Store genius bar.

It -might- be as easy as pushing the flap "back up" to where it belongs.

But I'd let them look at it first.
