I'm getting ready to upgrade my 2008 MBP and display. I'm looking at getting a 27" LED HDTV to share between the laptop and a game console. I don't want two displays (or have the space for two).

If I use a TB->HDMI adapter, have I just lost the TB port for use with peripherals?

Can you put a TB->HDMI adapter at the end of a chain of TB peripherals and still get video signal out to a TV?

Yes, a Thunderbolt to HDMI adaptor will work at the end of the chain. Until one comes out with a Thunderbolt pass-through, that's gonna be your best option.
