Bit of an odd request this one. Decent laptops with FW800 ports are rare, except for macs
However I have a need to use it under linux.
So anyone with a thunderbolt->FW800 adapter, have you tried it in linux? Either booting off a live distribution on a USB stick, or with a proper linux install.
If someone with one fancies trying it out, on a USB live distribution, I suspect for it to work at all you need to boot with the adapter plugged in.
