Thunderbolt to Firewire

I'm supposed to get a new 13" retina tomorrow. There's one problem - I can't get my Firewire stuff working at all with the Apple T-Bolt to USB converter in my 2011 13". The light comes on in my Apogee Duet, but that's about it.

So I tried my wife's 2012 MBA, still nothing. Has anybody found a better solution?

Is the output blinking? If its blinking it means its on mute. Hold the main button down. I just tried it with rMBP and adapter and it works perfect.

you also need to set it as the default sound output in the sound preferences or audio/midi setup.

T-bolt to USB converter? Are your FW devices bus-powered?

he made a typo.

Apogee Duet is FWbus powered. And it works as expected on the retina.

No, it's all dead. No hdd signal, and Maestro doesn't even see the Duet. I'm going to pass on the retina until next upgrade anyways. Thanks guys.

Try a different adapter. Yours might be defective.
