I am considering using the two thunderbolt ports on my imac one each for my audio interface and External SSD (I would prefer not to chain these to one port, but correct me if I should and won't lose anything)

Is it possible to connect:

iMac -> Thunderbolt audio interface with support to chain thunderbolt devices -> Minidisplay to HDMI Adaptor -> 2nd HDMI Monitor?

I hope this makes sense.

Thunderbolt devices will allow pass thru, ending with Mini Displayport to [VGA/DVI/HDMI]. My main setup is rMPB->Thunderbolt Display->Lacie 2Big -> MiniDP-to-HDMI-TV.

The only limitation with Thunderbolt is that the chain only allows 1 bus-powered device. Correct me if I'm wrong on this, but most bus-powered Thunderbolt devices I've seen terminate the chain, so you shouldn't have to worry about this as in most cases your Thunderbolt devices require a separate power source anyways.

omg thanks for the reply, it's hard to find information on such a specific setup, but this means it should work fine! My audio interface is not bus powered :)

Take care and have a good one!
