I'm trying to help this guy sort something out. he's trying to share a 802.1 X Wi-Fi connection over the thunderbolt Ethernet adapter with his PS3. he has a retina MacBook pro base spec.

when trying to share the connection the Ethernet one doesn't show up, yet the PS3 knows that there is a network, it gets an ip address but no further.

we've managed to get this working with a base 13" mbp and an Xbox.

I'm just wondering why the Ethernet adapter connection doesn't show in the list of adapters.

Why should it be that the windows install can use a cable connection but not show as an adapter in network sharing centre?
