Do you think thunderbolt is here to stay on macs? The thunderbolt display is great but there don't seem to be many other products. Does the prior apple display work on current macs?

Yes, the prior ACDs work with 2011 Macs.

And TB is here to stay, it is adopted more broadly this year than last year, and once it reaches a critical mass, the devices itself might become more affordable.

Thunderbolt-equipped peripherals are beginning to come to market. It takes time and for the moment there is a price premium to pay, but this won't last forever. I expect to see more and more thunderbolt products in the next couple of years.

Since Apple uses Thunderbolt as such a big marketing term I think it would look pretty bad if they took it out only 1 year after releasing it. I think it will stay until the successor to TB comes in a few years (I'm guessing 5-9 but I don't know)
