ok, never thought of this, but 'happy' nonetheless.
Just had a wicked thunderstorm drive by and got freaked out by any landline connection to my most excellent MBP. disconnected power, airport still going strong. crazy noise and light show going on out there, and i am completely isolated from this external mayhem- yet still 'connected'. the lightning/thunder combo is spectacular, yet does not threaten my treasure in any fashion. i know you can get this with other systems, but with my MBP it just is...a no brainer.
"PS. stay away from the hidden files options in your third party software or your fingers may get get scorched. Luckily reattachment surgery is relatively painless. I should have asked a moderator before i panicked, too used to the dark side, I suppose.
