So I received a notice of an update to PKard today from Thursby Software. Please read below, it speaks for itself:

Dear Customer,

You are receiving this email because our records show that you own a license for one of the Thursby products. If you would rather not receive update notifications, please follow the instructions at the bottom of this email.

With the today's release of Apple's OS X v10.9 (Mavericks), we want to update you on what is planned for our software. Current versions of our products (ADmitMac v7, DAVE v10, ADmitMac PKI v5, and PKard for Mac v1.3) are NOT compatible with Mavericks and will not function after upgrading. Do not upgrade to Mavericks without upgrading or removing these products. We are completing final testing of new releases and will be sending notifications when upgrades are available. For up-to-date information on our Mavericks support, please visit http://thursby.com/support.

DAVE, ADmitMac, and ADmitMac PKI customers with Support & Upgrade Agreements (SUAs) will receive upgraded license and download information. Customers without an SUA can purchase upgrades when available. PKard for Mac will not require an upgrade fee.

If you have technical questions, please contact our Support Department at support@thursby.com. Upgrade information and other sales questions should be directed to our Sales Department at sales@thursby.com.

Sincerely,
Carl Ketterling
Director Customer Support
Thursby Software Systems, Inc.

Here's my response:

I really appreciate your company sending out this notice on the day Mavericks has come out.

At 4.33 PM.

My favorite part of the e-mail:

"Do not upgrade to Mavericks without upgrading or removing these products.”

Awesome.

Of course I have already removed and tried reinstalling and now PKard is no longer working (I then attempted to remove the old PKard). I did not see the e-mail until about 20 minutes ago, maybe ten minutes after I finished rebooting after installing Mavericks.

It would probably be a good idea to send out this notice several days prior to an OS update that stops your software from running. Please let me know when your developers catch up with the rest of the tech world and release a compatible version.

Other developers and companies had copies of Mavericks over the last few weeks to help adapt their software to make it compatible in time for the release.

Why didn’t yours?

I am moving on. There is better software support out there. Yeesh.
