Recently I was using my TiBook on some carpet and I got a huge static discharge. Now I've been taught that this is very bad for computers, but is it such a problem for the metal encased TiBook? I haven't noticed any problems so I'd assume no, but incase there might be some unforseen I am questioning here. Thanks.

I wouldn't worry about it. The case of the TiBook is its ground, and any static electricity will have dissipated on its case, which is the ground anyway.

If static comes in contact with internal parts of the TiBook (or any computer for that matter), then you have the potential for a real problem.
