Hi there, so recently I got a PowerBook G4 Titanium 867mhz (A1025) because the PowerBook G4 12’ I got had little to no documentation on how to get Linux running on it. I found much more documentation with the TiBook, however it turned out a lot of it was just “showing” Debian running on it. I’ve tried Debian several different ways but the install always breaks itself at some point. The only version I’m able to install with zero issues and boot into off the bat (after typing in “Linux nomodeset”) was the Debian Sid remix. Regular debian sid has issues installing grub from what I gather. I was able to get it to boot into Lubuntu 12.04 remix just fine, but again the install failed. Hard drive is fine, I just replaced it. My OS9 and Sorbet Leopard partitions work flawlessly. Does anyone have a good solid way to get Debian running on these old machines? I’d seriously appreciate the help. I’m trying to do this for an engineering class project.
