I just finished installed 10.4 Tiger on my iMac from the retail CD's.
The only thing I did strange was "customize" the installation by not installing all the extra languages. The install when smooth. Then it finished, said it was successfully installed, and spit out the last CD. Then, without restarting, it logged into "root".
I can't restart/shut down/log out from the main Apple menu.
It will let me access system preferences, so I added another account, made it an admin, and turned the auto-login off.
When I manually turn it off with the power button(since doing it through th OS doesn't work), and restart it, it automatically logs in as root.
Hmmph, any ideas?
