Hey all,

Was wondering about what happens to the licensed copy I bought of Tiger on my macbook (the one that was installed when I bought it). I have a powermac g4 that is running panther and I was wondering if I could upgrade the g4 to tiger when I bought leopard for my macbook, perhaps using the discs that came with the macbook or just doing a carbon copy of the hard disk drive.

Ideas? Thoughts?

You can't use the disks on the PowerBook they'll only work on another MacBook. I'm not sure if a carbon copy would work or not but I'd guess not.

Well I guess my main question is do I own an official copy of tiger, so if I put it on the powermac its legal? This is after I put leopard on my macbook, overwriting tiger.

It wouldn't work. Tiger actually has two different versions. One for Intel, one for PPC. You can't use an Intel copy on PPC, or vice versa. It just wouldn't work.
