Hello,

I'm trying to install Tiger on my ocmputer. When I click the "Install Tiger" Icon I get the splash screen and a button to restart. After restarting, my system loads straight into Panther and I don't have any tiger install options.

Do I need to update my firmware perhaps?

Have you tried booting directly from the cd or dvd, put the cd in the drive, restart, after you here the ping sound, hold down the C key, and see if you can boot it up that way..

I tried that. I get the mac folder with a ? flashing over it for a couple of times, then it goes into panther again.

As Passante asked, "What are you trying to install it on?" and also, is this an "original" Tiger install disc?

I'm trying to install it over panther 10.3.9

This is the retail tiger disc, bought it on eBay.

So the disk looks like this:

Does it appear overly scratched? What is the computer you are upgrading? :)

Yes, that would be the disc. I've decided to just take it into apple since I'm under applecare still and let them f*ck with it. =)

BTW, what is your nationality jew? I myself am Jewish, shalom!

I didn't pick the username, I'm not actually all that Jewish.

I've got a tiny bit in me but I'm mainly Australian. :)

Good luck with getting Tiger onto your Mac.

did you try to do it via System Preferences? With the disk inserted into your machine, go to System Preferences->Startup Disk and select the CD as your boot drive.
