Hi!
I have an eMac 1GHz ATI graphics model, 1 GB RAM.
I've recently installed Tiger - 10.4 followed by 10.4.2.
It was a clean installation - I had erased my hard drive because of lingering problems I had with my setup under various iterations of 10.3.
So starting again was good, except recently I've been losing mouse settings - something I have never experienced before.
I have a Microsoft Optical Trackball with Intellisoft 5.1 driver.
The custom settings have included being able to set the wheel button to double-click, and the outside buttoons for 'back' and 'forward' in web browsers. This was all ok, but now I lose the settings on restart.
I've tried USB Overdrive and SteerMouse, but neither makes any difference.
The major recent work on the computer was installing OS9.2.2 and Adobe Creative Suite.
So far I've been unable to find anyone on various web forums who can identify a solution - various reinstalls, repair permissions etc, nothing has worked so far.
