anyone have any notion of whether or not 10.4 will provide better ODBC handling than 10.3? that's always been one area that's lagged behind the rest of the OS.

Do you mean ODBC database?

if he is talking about databases then CoreData is what he's looking for. you can use CoreData to output to Binary, XML, or SQLite database.
 
i'm referring to OS X's built-in ODBC driver & datasource administration utility. i've had to use 3rd party bridges like the ones provided by Open Link and Actual Technologies to get full ODBC support across various applications.

(sorry for the typo in the initial post -- i was only halfway through my morning coffee.)
