Just wanted to let you guys know I've gotten this working as well, but I can't edit the wiki because I just registered. I used Pacifist to extract all the /System/Library/Extensions/ATI* files from a Macbook Pro 10.4.10 install CD and then hacked the iMacSoftwareUpdate1.2.1.pkg (downloadable from Apple's website) to let me install it on the Mac Pro (by changing line 65 of iMacSoftwareUpdate1.2.1.pkg/Contents/iMacSoftwareUpdate1.2.1.dist to:

All is well. Core Image and Quartz Extreme working well. I did have to swap the 8800GT back to a HD2600XT, unfortunately. Maybe I'll switch back next year when our software might be working with Leopard. Fix X11 in Leopard, Apple!! (and why did they make it so that we can no longer use /net for our netmounts... annoying, now we have to rewrite a lot of stuff...)
