I'm slowly going through the process of installing Tiger on a fresh drive (haven't had much time to devote to the hours it will take for me to reinstall all of my applications.)

My current 10.3.9 is buggy and unreliable and so I want a fresh start with Tiger. So, I'm not going to allow Tiger to automatically copy my applications over - I don't want it to port all of their bad preferences / quirks with them.

It would be convenient, though, if I could allow Tiger to port all of my User data - my Mail, Music, etc. But, I'm worried that it may also import corrupted preferences and the like while doing that. I wish Apple let you specify what information to bring over, instead of just generically clicking on a user.

To the point: Does anyone know if porting a user over automatically will bring lots of corrupted system preferences with it -- or will it only copy User information like Mailboxes, Calendars, etc?

Thanks to anyone who can help!
Joe
