Ok, now I'm really annoyed!
In Panther you could search NFS network mounts ok. In Tiger, you can't spotlight them, nor can you search them! Its bad enough that spotlight won't work, but no search at all? Something's up with that.
I'm a web developer, and I work directly off my Linux web server - everything I do is saved on it (even all my music and documents etc) so this is a pretty major thing for me, I'm even considering downgrading to Panther until its fixed.
It does work with AFP mounts (which was to be expected). I managed to get AFP working from my server fine (using Netatalk), but you can't get Tiger to automatically mount non-guest AFP mounts very well and I'm not too keen on having my livelyhood sat on an unprotected fileserver with a wireless network in place. There are third party apps that will do it, but they all rely on AppleScript to simply automate the process upon login, which isn't much good as I need to use static mounts, not dynamic ones.
Hmmph. Major bummer. Anybody know of any work-arounds?
