it's not as much an "update" as it is you buying the latest OS. all versions of OS X sold by Apple are the same - there are not separate versions for people updating versus people buying new. $129 is the correct figure for all previous releases of OS X.

Yea, typically $129. Students get a big discount though; I bought Tiger in '05 (college) for $79 I think.

But yea, Leopard is coming out in October! I would just wait and save $129...
