Tiger??

I got a powerpc g4 400mhz machine for free and it came with osx 10.2.8 but i didn't get any software disk with it and i wanted to upgrade to ??? so what do i upgrade to next and if i do upgrade can i use the disk on a imac g3 and an emac also because i have a total of 3 apple computer i got for nothing? thanks for the help..

-Buy a Tiger family pack
-Check the firmware is up to date on all machines (search apple's website) - the iMac G3 especially might need an upgrade.
-Put as much RAM as possible in all machines (absolute minimum of 256MB for Tiger to run: but the more the better).
-Install.

i thought you had to use panther than tiger? but i can just go straight to tiger? other question is should i wait for the price of ter to go down?
