It's probably very unlikely but has anyone heard of a tight ipad case causing harm to the ipad itself?

I just ordered this lovely case online(not a brand name kind) and the case fits incredibly tight on the ipad.

Let me know.

Yes I have a dented corner on an iPad 2 because of a tight fitting case. Thats why I refuse to put a iPad 2 case on my iPad 3.

dam this sucks, unforunately i got my case on already. not sure if the case is hurting more or is the ipad hurting more.

I think what you define as a tight fitting case will have an impact. It would have to be EXTREMELY bad for it to actually bend the aluminium.

I'm using the marware iPad 2 case on my new iPad with no issues. It is a little tight but to me it seems perfect. If the case was looser I wouldn't feel safe so I'll gladly take the slightly tight fit over the alternative.

My iPad 2 Speck SmartShell cases scuffed the aluminum on my new iPad. That's not Speck's fault, that's my fault for not waiting. Just a word of warning. They fit but were just too tight and caused the plastic to bow and flex scuffing the aluminum.

That must have been a hard shell. I don't think an iPad 2 soft case that's somewhat tight for iPad 3 could dent the iPad. If an iPad 2 hard case, I wouldn't recommend an attempt to fit iPad 3.
