Or even how far we've come since the first iPhone. It was groundbreaking in 2007, but the first gen could only support a fraction of what most people use their phones for today.I think Apple invented a new era in technology. Just like with the iPhone replacing alder designs this will replace computers as we know them. Of course this is just an early model. Think of when the first desktop computers came out versus what we have now.
I think it will be closer to a regular pair of glasses in form factor. This is the early primitive bulky model.Or even how far we've come since the first iPhone. It was groundbreaking in 2007, but the first gen could only support a fraction of what most people use their phones for today.
"It's an iPod, a phone, an internet communicator". 15 years later, a smartphone is so much more than how Steve Jobs originally described the iPhone. Imagine what a Vision Pro will be in 15 years.
Apple doesn’t emphasize their products for gaming. I don’t see why you’re surprised it’s any different when it comes to this product. They make products for daily use that have practical purposes. It really is impressive how they took the one area of AR/VR that we thought laughable (interacting with a computer, browsing web, etc) and built on it, while ignoring the one area that has had success (gaming).
Maybe ignoring gaming is the wrong phrase. They did not emphasis it.
Don't underestimate game developers and the spending power of the gaming industry. I can foresee a multi-billion dollar gaming industry just based on the Vision Pro features/capabilities.Apple doesn’t emphasize their products for gaming. There are too many gaming devices out there for Apple to enter that market. This is more than that. As Apple says, it’s for spatial computing. They are thinking the big picture not someone playing some FPS. I’m not criticizing gaming because I love gaming and do it on a daily basis. I just don’t think that’s where the innovation is going to be. No one ten years from now is going to say oh my God you know that new virtual reality gaming headset to play COD, well it changed my life.
I agree it’ll be used for gaming but I think Apple is trying to emphasize its use as a computing device rather than a gaming console.Don't underestimate game developers and the spending power of the gaming industry.
