Timbuk2 med size bag a little big when not full?

To all you folks who tote your MBP around in a TB2 bag, does it seem too large if it isnt full of stuff? Looking to buy a medium but looking at it in the store (empty and flat) it seems like it would be akward if I just had say a book and a few other items in it.

Whatta you think?

Looking at the d-lux messenger in particular.
 
I'm looking for a Timbuk2 for my new MBP 13". Which size is best, small or medium? Would be carrying the MBP, charger, maybe ipod, keys, a few other random items....
 
i'm really cuirious as well.
specifically about the timbuk2 HAL if anyone can put any reviews on this bad, how it is, if its too big
sorry for jacking your thread, but this is noted as a medium bag and therefore help us understand how big it really is
