For the last three times I have turned on my Powerbook G4 12" 1.5 GHz running 10.5.2 it has come up with yes, I change it save it but everytime I turn it back on from a shutdown it still displays it!

Any solutions or is it just being annoying?

Thanks!

Your pram battery is dead. You'll need to replace it.

Is this an easy/DIY thing?

How much and where do I get a PRAM battery from?

Thanks

EDIT: I think this is also another solution for another post I have made which was about free hard drive space...

As soon as I put in the date it would let me copy and paste...

But I found this by another forum member:

It's called a PRAM battery (I think). Like you said, the 12" PB doesn't have it, (neither do iBooks) so you have to shut it down in order change batteries.

I am running a Powerbook G4 12"

Thanks for the useful site iPhil Ill have a look now!

THanks

It does have a battery for the clock despite what people may say.

This really isn't a do it yourself job. 12" powerbooks are a pain to get open (and closed).

ANy idea of how much it would cost to fix it? And anyway to definately check this is the problem...

Im guessing it wouldn't serve too well if I sold the laptop you see as apart from that its pretty much in pristine condition!

Thanks

p.s. im in the UK by the way so £'s are preferential!

Honestly, for the 12" powerbook I'd take it in to get it fixed. The thing is pretty tough to open up. (It may be a problem with one of the boards as the 12" is kind of different.)

Ill try ringing apple and see what they have to say! Thanks!
