Hi,
I have the newest 2TB Time Capsule and the Early 2011 MacBook Pro. So I have all the necessary hardware for the 450Mbps speeds that the Time Capsule boasts.
I initially set it up like how Apple told me to, as an AirDisk drive over the local network. I assume this takes full advantage of the 450Mbps stream allowed by the Wi-Fi connection.
But I really wanted remote access, so I set up a dynamic DNS via FreeDNS (great service) and hooked it up to the Time Capsule. Now I can back up to it anywhere in the world and stuff, but now I'm worried about its local network performance.
Does hooking up your Time Capsule to a dynamic DNS server and accessing it on the same network impact performance? If it does, how does it compare to the performance via AirDisk?
