I have a bunch of DVDs on a NAS and have been streaming them to my TV using an HP x280n media extender. The path from the NAS is NAS->router->router/linksys WI-FI AP->media extender. It has been working as a champ until I decided to switch the Linksys out with a TC w/1TB HD.
At some point during the video playback the movie will stop and the extender will return back to the selection screen. I cannot restart the movie unless I connect to the NAS through my MBP and start viewing the same movie (connected to the TC through WiFi). Then I start the playback again from the point where it stopped.
The TC is set up in bridge mode (not connected to my cable modem) and it only functions as a TM target, wifi AP and router. To me it looks like there is a cache in the TC that gets corrupt and somehow when I start viewing the same movie again from another machine it gets flushed and I can start playback again. The Linksys the TC replaced didn't have a cache and just kept going even if a frame arrived from the source out of order.
I have looked through the admin interface to the TC but don't see anywhere where I can disable or change anything to do with a cache.
Has anyone seen/experienced anything similar?
