Time Capsule and Windows

I'm thinking about getting time capsule and I'm wondering if anyone knows the following:
1) Can it back up a windows machine?
2) Can files you store from one machine be accessed on another?

1. Yes. You can use the default program from Windows XP but the default backup program for Vista is not compatible. You could use a 3rd party program or manually copy what you want to backup to the Time Capsule.
